Can I Lie Here
<--How He Loves
About
From Church Music magazine 'Can I Lie is structurally one of the more unorthodox songs on the album, in that it doesn’t really have a chorus, but rather an A, B, with a C refrain, of sorts, at the end. This song approaches the line of romantic imagery within the music of the Church with out getting too creepy, or so the band hopes. If you are uncomfortable with the romantic imagery, it is also a pun that asks the question, “is it possible to be anything less than authentic in the presence of the divine?” The answer to this should bring with it great relief. Also, this is the only song the band has recorded in which a large portion of the drums was actually tracked in an empty garage.' |
