So something happened. We never saw it coming. It walloped us upside the head. A Collision reached the #2 spot on iTunes...Did you hear me correctly? Number 2! Out of all of the albums being sold!!! We're floored. And you know what...so was our website! We've been getting so many hits, we don't know what to do with them. Like I said, we never saw it coming...but we're trying to get the site up and running smoothly again soon, so bear with us...and while you're at it, laugh out loud, roll on the floor, and smile...cause we're number 1 (almost).
-dcb It was an exciting moment to say the least...the clock struck midnight, and the fingers were poised to make the call. The band, along with legendary guitar craftsman (and longtime bona-fide hero of the Crowder Band) Tom Anderson, waited with anticipation. Mike D began frantically typing, and seconds later, the winning phone number popped up. David's fingers wasted no time, and before our cheers died down, we heard a confused peep come frome the phone's speaker, "Hello???" It was one o'clock in the morning where John Chambers, winner of the glorious Anderson guitar that is "The Atom," was slumbering moments ago. Apparently he was unaware that the Crowder Band always lives on Texas Time, so when midnight had come and gone, he lost hope and decided to turn in for the evening. Once he came to, he could not hold in his excitement...His phone was put on speaker and others were brought to the phone to share the moment. Congratulations were given and history was made. It was beautiful.
Well done John Chambers. [Editor's Note: The original post was accompanied by two photos, presumably of the man and the guitar, both photos which are missing.] Due to Hurricane Rita, the "A Collision" Tour stop in Houston has been rescheduled from September 27th to October 24th. Below is a message from the event coordinator. We hope to see you there on October 24th!!!
-dcb Although Houston did not receive a direct hit from Hurricane Rita, Houston is NOT up and running fully yet. Power is still out in parts of Houston, gas stations are being refueled, grocery stores and businesses are beginning to open slowly, most schools reopen Wednesday, and 2.4 million evacuees (volunteers, staff, and patrons) are returning home in city mandated stages through Tuesday. Due to these circumstances, we believe rescheduling the "Collision Tour" event at Fellowship of the Woodlands from Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 7:30 pm TO Monday, October 24, 2005 at 7:30 pm will be in everyone's best interest. We apologize for the inconvenience, but are still very excited about this concert and want to make it the best it can possibly be for all involved. Patrons need to keep their current tickets, as they will be accepted for entry on October 24, 2005. Thank you and God Bless, Tamy Johnson, KSBJ Special Events Director We cannot wait!!!! Next week is too far away! Too far I tell you! And so we have convinced the powers that be, to relent. Today on iTunes we have made three songs available to you ahead of schedule. "A Collision EP" is now waiting for you!!!! We hope these songs brighten your week.
Cheers, DC*B http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=80067982 To download iTunes, go to http://www.apple.com/itunes...it's free! "A Collision" is almost here! http://ecards.sparrowrecords.com/dcb/acollision/ Hey guys...that time has so come. We need you!!! This could be legendary. As you all probably know, A Collision is releasing September 27th. And following the release, we are hoping to visit a town near you and share a night together on the "A Collision Tour!" We can't wait, but we also can't do it alone. A little help from friends would warm our hearts so. Here's what you can do:
*Go to the schedule and see if the tour comes to a town near you. (http://www.davidcrowderband.com/schedule) *Visit http://268generation.com/sixstepstour/fall05.htm *Download the tour poster and rave card images *Print tons of them out on a printer or at kinko's/office max/office depot/whatever you have near you *Put them up put them up in your cafeteria, gym, coffee shop, etc. Wherever "they" will let you. *Smile and pat yourself on the back for a job very well done. *Sit back and imagine the warmth that is overcoming our hearts. -dcb |
