Leaning On The Everlasting Arms / 'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus
Analysis
Analysis by Will L ...the son has now come home, and is leaning on God's everlasting arms. At first glance, this medley of two traditional hymns has no lyrical connection with the text of the Requiem. However, a closer examination will reveal that there is in fact a connection to the Libera Me. This track ends with the song 'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus, as does another DC*B song titled Deliver Me. And the Libera Me begins "Libera me, Domine, de morte aeterna..." which translates as "Deliver me, O Lord, from eternal death..." Thus, this song references the song Deliver Me, which has a lyrical connection to the Libera Me. |
