we moved into the barn yesterday. it is the place we will record the next cd. there is a little loft just around the corner at the top of the stairs. it sticks out over the great room and there is an old wooden ladder that goes up to it. there is just enough room for a mattress and that is where we slept last night for the first time. it was perfect. the room looks so nice from above. i think the walls are singing already. when the lights were out and when it got quiet it wasn’t really. quiet. i can’t wait to start making music down there. it was really hard to climb the ladder without shoes though. i would never have suspected that. it to be so difficult with out shoes. it was terribly painful. but i don’t really want to wear my shoes up the ladder, into the loft, to have them sit beside me through the night, but the pain was unexpected. i might need some ladder shoes. they could stay on the floor until needed and then when i climb i could slip them on and that would be their purpose. to take me up there. this morning the bird was back. it is so red. i hate that it flies into the window so fast. again. and again. and again. 7:30am it flies into the window. i wonder what it wants? it is so red. you should see it.
