wow. these days off are killing me. (i wonder how many of these entries i have begun with the word “wow”.) actually i just counted them. there are 7. of course there are…anyway, we typically don’t have this much time between evenings in concert. on this tour we play 3 or 4 evenings and then take a break for 3 or 4. which makes sense. we play the weekends basically, throwing thursday nights in on occasion. i suppose the logic is that more people are likely to come to a concert on the weekend as opposed to the middle or first of the week. (what do you think? are you more or less likely to attend a show that is on a monday vs a show that is on a friday?) plus we had the snow storm which cancelled salt lake and denver which gave us almost a week without playing. trust me i’m not complaining it’s just very different than the pace we normally set. our last tour we had somewhere between 25 and 30 dates and had only 4 or 5 days off total. it is extremely hard to be away from home without “working”. it feels really unproductive. i really dislike idleness. so i’m writing a book to pass the time.
