We were lucky enough to debut at #1 on the Christian music charts, which is huge. We also debuted at #39 on Billboard (I think that’s what it was…) which would be our highest showing to date. (Now is an appropriate time to tell you all that we met some resistance with the company that tabulates all the albums sold on a weekly basis. Apparently they decided, for one reason or another, not to count a lot of our sales. So they say that we sold 27 thousand copies, but in reality it was almost twice that. As far as chart positioning and such, you guys can do the math. The important, and amazing thing, is that there are a lot of people who have our record in their hot little hands. The numbers don’t mean anything when you look at it like that… We couldn’t be happier.)
The shows have been going awesome as well. For one, we couldn’t ask for a better group of guys to be on the road with. The Shanes and Robbie and his guys are unbelievable, and have been consistantly knocking it out of the park on a nightly basis. On top of that, we have had a nice little run of sold-out shows, which is about the most you can ask for. Each one has been fun an full of surprises (including David running out in the middle of our set in order to have his picture made with a mysterious vehicle named the “Muskee,” which may or may not have had a letter T in its name at one point in time…)
So, if you have bought the record and come to see us, thank you so much. You have no idea how much we appreciate you. If you have yet to buy it, then you know what you have to do. There is no need to pound it in your heads (buybuybuybuybuybuybuybuy…). If you haven’t been able to come out yet, then give it time. This tour is just getting started.
We’ll see you guys out there.
