About
From Church Music magazine 'This is another song that both promotes the modern sounding dance vibe first heard in The Nearness, but also harkens back to the rich tapestry of church music, using an ancient Chinese prayer book as its lyrical source material. The biggest left turn this song takes, though, is the dirge-like pirate breakdown in the middle. Both eerie and beautiful, it rightly sets up the musical section that follows and final, triumphant chorus. While fun to listen to, the coda at the end (including the mysterious vocal saying, “In the Space age, nothing is impossible…”) brings us back to a central question that really is one of the prominent themes of the record, namely, is there any musical form that cannot be church music?' |
