From Church Music magazine 'This song started as a rap about Atlanta, GA that the band started singing in the Maverick’s old locker room in Dallas, TX. It was a pretty good rap, about things like cars and clubs and also a verse about how people in rock bands aren’t very good at rapping; biting social commentary, really. Despite the promise of this song in its early development, the band considers it a great fortune that it later took a more serious turn. Thankfully, the low-end, trunk-shaking beats remained. Lyrically, there is perhaps a clearer presentation of what thematic content the band is attempting to present – that church music, perhaps, is at its best when the line between heaven and earth are caused to be less defined because of it, and this is miraculous. There is a transportive power in Church music that moves a soul from the depths of despair to transcendent heights. ' |
