last week we flew to lexington ky wednesday night. got on a bus owned by dear friends of ours cj and terry. they drove us on our very first tour not too many years ago. we love them. they drove us to their house where we spent the night and woke to a feast of a breakfast. we ate ourselves very near to sinfulness. we left.
thursday night we played at a festival called “ichthus”. ichthus or ichthys is greek. it means “fish”.
friday night we played at a festival called “atlanta fest”.
saturday night we played in dayton ohio where i met a really cool guy whose name i can’t remember. he gave me a note and asked me if i’d mention him in my blog. i lost his note. he said his friends had told him he wouldn’t be able to get me to do it. i’m not sure who wins… (foreshadowing: we will later see one of the guys who helped put this event on. we will be at the columbus airport as our trip is coming to its end. he will be heading to hawaii with his family for three weeks. three weeks!! we will feel what is very near envy as he tells us this but we will be heading home and something amazing is waiting for me there.)
sunday night we play at a church in troy michigan. we see some of our very close friends here and get to say hello briefly.
monday night we don’t play anywhere. we watch movies in columbus ohio. one of them is “the lake house”. keanu reeves is the best actor ever. he is a thespian. really. i’m not kidding. no seriously. stop. stop it. stop laughing. i’m serious. ok. but the plot is genius. no seriously. it is. stop. stop it…(foreshadowing: we will later be in this city’s airport where we talk to a man we know who is heading to hawaii. there is something waiting for me at home.)
tuesday night we secretly play at a church in atlanta. or the a-t-l as we affectionately referred to the city while there. it was a secret because we like secrets. we had a lot of fun.
wednesday night we played in wheeling west virginia. this was the second time we’ve played in wheeling west virginia. we like wheeling west virginia.
thursday night we played at a festival called “alive festival”. alive is english. it means “having life”.
friday morning we went to the columbus ohio airport. we were heading home. we saw one of the guys who helped put on the event in dayton ohio that we had played at. we were in the security check point line. he was with his family. they were heading to hawaii for three weeks. i thought that sounded really fun but there was something waiting for me at home that i was really excited about.
here is what was waiting for me:
edit: it seems it is the responsible and necessary thing to include an interjection here – any comments involving mr. reeves and houses near bodies of water were made with satirical tone.
