When confronted with the rumor the Crowder Band put the issue up to a vote, and in a unanimous decision concluded that it would in fact be really sweet if someone at the conference had played on Thriller. And even if no one there had played on the song, all agreed that it would have been cooler if they did.
Also of note, that very same conference yielded an opportunity to meet several well respected percussion players, including 80’s star Sheila E (see photograph B). Less than a week after meeting the famed female drummer, violinist Mike Hogan and drummer Jeremy Bush saw her on TV playing drums for Destiny’s Child solo phenom Beyonce Knowles. Though there is a possibility that Ms. E could have played on Thriller, the band doesn't think she did.
“I don't remember if there were any real drums on that song, you know?” Bush said later. “But didn't she have that one song, you know, like back in the 80’s? What was the name of that song?”
At press time, we had yet to remember the name of that song...
